Project Manager

Job Title:  Project Manager  

Location: Wrightstown, WI 

 

Job Summary: Dynamic provides engineered product solutions to construction projects in the biogas industry.  The Project Manager works with vendors and the general contractor to ensure equipment is delivered to the jobsite according to the project schedule, actual costs are within the budget, and verifies all equipment is delivered as ordered and meets the purchase order and contract terms.  The Project Manager prepares project status reports, delivers status reports, and budget reports and works to ensure plans adhere to project specifications and serves as the first point of contact for questions about invoices or reception of payments.  

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing, coordinating, and/or overseeing daily project management activities during procurement, design, construction, and close-out phase. 

  • Perform site inspections and document contractor progress. 

  • Negotiating and awarding of contracts to subcontractors and vendors. 

  • Responsible for the overall coordination and success of the assigned project and staff while providing a safe work environment. 

  • Write subcontract and purchase order scopes of supply. 

  • Develop, maintain, and distribute detailed project schedules. 

  • Identify, manage and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring bids are completed timely, completely, and accurately. 

  • Develop, and sustain working relationships with clients through direct communication. 

  • Identify and understand bidding documents on which proposal/contract are based, including plans, specs. addendum's, etc. 

  • Identify and/or submit required project documentation and notify other departments. 

  • Monitor job progress, especially regarding scope of work, job cost (budget vs actual), and project documents (plans). 

  • Work with project development team to develop to develop proposals and budgets for new projects 

  • Update equipment cost estimates on a regular basis 

  • Work with vendors to develop O&M and installation manuals 

  • Identify opportunities to improve products and/or reduce costs 

  • Attend construction coordination meetings 

 

Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related qualification such as professional experience in construction management. 

 

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Problem Solving and Critical Thinking Skills – Identify possible issues with the delivery or installation of equipment and work to develop alternate solutions to the issues. 

  • Analytical Skills –Look at a lot of different technical and operational approaches to achieve the desired process goals and select the proper process and equipment to achieve these goals while understanding budget concerns. 

  • Communication Skills – Frequent verbal and written communication with the Engineering Manager, other members of the design team, outside engineering firms, vendors and plant staff to clearly articulate the information required to complete the tasks within the defined timeline.  

  • Adaptability – Must be adaptable to working on multiple projects at once and working in different capacities to support project design, project commissioning, and project operations.  

  • Availability – Ability to travel to project sites during construction and commissioning phase of project and be available to answer questions and support the staff as needed. 

 

Knowledge & Competencies: 

  • Have a keen attention to detail, a high level of organizational skills, and be able to handle complex responsibilities. 

  • Ability to negotiate terms and conditions. 

  • Ability to travel short duration assignments 

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal. 

  • Understand the principles and methods of cost accounting, contacts, safety, project management, procurement, negotiating, design, applicable codes and regulations. 

  • Ability to schedule projects, identify critical needs, and manage budgets. 

  • Construction management degree desired but not required with appropriate skill set. 

  • Excellent multi-tasking. 

  • Proficient with the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer 

  • Proficient at reading and understanding electrical and mechanical schematics 

  • Exhibits sound judgement and decision making skills  

 

Certificates and Licenses: 

  • Valid driver's license

The employee may occasionally be required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.  The employee will be required to traverse stairs, ladders, and ships ladders.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to an office environment and a construction site environment.
